Tarkett and Itochu participate to Japan Shop 2022
Tarkett and Itochu have reached an agreement to expand environmentally friendly vinyl products in Japan and participate to their common effort of fighting climate change. Both companies participated in Japan Shop Exhibition in Tokyo on March 1st – 4th 2022 to present this innovative flooring solution to Architects, Designers and Healthcare stakeholders in Tokyo Big sight.
A booth was held to promote the exclusive range of Circular Selection manufactured by Tarkett and imported and distributed by Itochu in Japan. The range includes : iQ Natural, Desso Airmaster and Omnisports collections.
iQ Natural
The Homogeneous Vinyl flooring iQ Natural is the world’s first floor with bio-attributed vinyl that replaces traditional fossil oil with renewable biomass feedstock – produced using mass balance principles and certified by third-party auditors. This flooring solution enable a greenhouse gas emission reduction of 50%, when compared to average homogeneous vinyl floors. iQ Natural is amongst the lowest carbon footprint resilient flooring on the market. This collection is part of Tarkett’s Circular Selection.
iQ Natural is fully recyclable post-installation and post-use in Tarkett’s plant in Ronneby, Sweden through an innovative industrial cleaning method. It allows used floors to be cleaned from glue and concrete residues, and turned into vinyl granules of the same quality as virgin raw materials.

Additionally, iQ Natural can be restored and maintained with dry-buffing. Unlike other solutions, iQ's surface treatment offers class-leading performance FOR LIFE. The homogenous structure can be dry buffed to provide the smooth, resilient surface needed for maximum hygiene and resistance to chemicals or staining in sensitive environments.
Desso Airmaster
DESSO AirMaster marries great innovation and performance with strong design to boost health and wellbeing in offices, schools, healthcare environments and other public buildings. Its patented technology has been proven to reduce the concentration of fine dust in the air four times more effectively than regular carpets and eight times more effectively than smooth floors. The structured loop pile carpet tile is available in 8 collections.
Most collections of our DESSO carpet tile range is available with ECONYL® yarn. ECONYL® is a yarn which is made from 100% regenerated nylon including discarded fishing nets and post-consumer yarn waste from our carpet recycling center. This development has been accomplished in close collaboration with yarn supplier Aquafil. From the onset, we recognized that in order to achieve our Cradle to Cradle® goal, co-operation and commitment is needed from key partners. As part of our ongoing commitment to making a positive impact on health and wellbeing, Tarkett has joined Healthy Seas, an initiative to help clean up the seas, founded by ECNC Group, Aquafil and Star Sock.
